Holiday Purchase Impulse

1. DC: Canon A720 IS。
I have planed to buy a digital camera for months. I made a vast and deep investigation on some famous Electronic Business Websites and forums. I also consulted some friends who knew DC products and markets well. Finally I restricted my options to two patterns: Canon IXUS 80 IS and Canon A720 IS. The former is thin, good-looking, painted in different colors, many of which is definitely attractive to me. I have to admit, sometimes, I care for the appearance of a product much more than the quality. IXUS 80 IS is the new Canon style this year and sells well. However, I thought the price was on a plateau which exceeded my expectation. So I waited, waited, ... ,hoping the price would decline soon. The price of a digital product always decreases in a few months after its launch. But months have passed, now IXUS 80's price is still too high to be accepted for me. I can't wait to buy a DC. I have to give up my first choice. So I choose the A720 IS, which is heavier, uglier but more cost-effective. Its appearance is quite clumsy and unattactive, which I think is the greatest weakness of this product, but the design is convenient for hold. And I think its greatest advantage is the excellent quality comparing with the other DCs which have an equivalent price, considering its paremeters on pixels, focus, aperture, etc. On May 1st, there was a promotion of electric facilities in the Suning Electric Market nearby. I went there with two friends and got my first DC. I was gave a discount and got a free memory card and a small DC packet. I booked my rechargeable batteries and some other accessoies on 360buy.com, because they are much cheaper there.
2. Book: "Lifetime Plan for Success" (English edition)
by Dale Carnegie, Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences Press, 2008
It is a collected edition of Dale Carnegie's three famous books: "How to Win Friends & Influence People", "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living", "The Quick and Easy Way to Effective Speaking". It has 512 pages and sells ￥25 only. Though I have read the third book, I think this collected edition is worth buying.
3. Book: "BEC Higher: Speaking English for Business"
by Jian Xinya, Posts & Telecom Press, 2005
A practical reference book for Speaking English for Business, recommended by my BEC Speaking English teacher.
The two books were bought in ZBB on May 1st night. During this short May holiday (3 days) , I have spent about ￥1700. I totally understand what the Holiday Purchase Impulse means now.
